5KLANG!  Aug 10, 2009
Let me say first that I only watched some of Making the Band 4 and I never saw KLANG! performing on the show. I got Danity Kane's and Day 26 albums, but not this 1 cos I didn't even know they made it or if it had got a release. Partly what attracted me to getting this album was funnily enough some of the passionate and blindly ignorant criticism of this album. Strangely enough, I have found in my experience that albums that receive such criticism are often much better than what people say and it is just that the album is not what people expect/want it to be or are ready to hear. Many great things are not appreciated in their own time. That is definitely the case with this album. The quality of some of the production is fantastic, let's not forget that some of the best producers in the game are on the album, including No.1 man of 2008 The-Dream and the amazing Mario Winans. I thoroughly agree with another review that said this album may seem bland on first listen, but give this a few listens and you will start to appreciate KLANG!'s voice so much more. It isn't an all out belting soul sound; he ain't getting down like Prince on 'Adore', or Usher on 'Burn'. It's largely a pop album, so its appropriate that his vocals are restrained. That's not a bad thing - his voice definitely has it's own quality to appreciate and you will find yourself enjoying his harmonies and ad-libs. Like another review said, one of the major strengths of the cd is that it feels like a cohesive album and is great to listen to from start to finish. The spoken word interludes set the tone and elevate the album into the realms of a high art form - some of the backing music over these interludes is stunning. It seems to me like Diddy pressed the "off-switch" on Klang's career, and in turn, the fans of the show let him down by not supporting him enough and giving his album more of a listen. The fans seem very pre-occupied by the tracks that weren't on the album as opposed to the ones that are. Well i youtubed the missing material, and although "Spank Me" is catchy and thoroughly enjoyable, it's novelty buzz single fare - there's way better songs on this album. The song "Just a Rolling Stone" is a different proposition. This is a spectacular song which is perfect for KLANG! whose lyrics sum up the story of this album. But I ask you, where would this song fit in the album? The only logical place would be to close the album with it and lose, "The Rain" and the wondrously epic "You're My Idol". That wouldn't work. In any case, the melody of the song is featured throughout the spoken word interludes. However, I would have either released it as a stand alone single, a double a-side with "Take You There" (this would have drummed up sales. Or had it as a bonus hidden track either at the start or end of the album (like they did with David Gray's album "White Ladder" on the UK release). I like Diddy and Bad Boy ('Press Play' is an album so good it's clearly a product of 'sex, love and pain') but they let Donald J. down in a major way. They clearly thought they didn't need to promote and could ride the wave of interest of 'Making The Band' and that was lazy. SORRY THIS REVIEW IS SO LONG, but please don't hate; I just wanna stick up for KLANG! (and no I ain't his family or part of the record company). I own and have listened to hundreds of cds and this is one of my favourites! If you are ready to listen without prejudice, then buy it and idolize it! Anyway, I hear he's HUGE in Poland!

5I,m Impressed!!!!!!!  May 08, 2009
I have been watching the show and only focused mainly on Danity Kane and Day 26 but I never really paid much to Donnie.I remember when Diddy was talking to him in the office and said your an quiet artist something like that. I think it,s true. The focused was mainly on the two groups the most.I think his music is great, people need to give him a chance. I think if he has a spin-off people will really get to know him much better. So I am looking forward to the spin-off show he was talking about during the final episode of making the band.I just listened to him and I was impressed. I never gave him an chance. I thought he was going to be mediocure but he has something special going on. I love the album. I like almost every singe track on it. Usually when I listen to albums I find myself skipping through boring or not appealing songs but I never had to on this album because the songs were catchy and grabbed my attention.

1I made a big mistake buying this CD  May 05, 2009
This CD is absolutely horrible Diddy gave him hand me down tunes that didn't work and the corny interviews skits make me wanna throw up. When I watched the show Making the band I had high hopes for this singer but, when I listen to the CD is was hard for me to listen to. I've tried to give it away but none of my friends want it. It's garbage!!!
