James Blunt CD Feb 24, 2009 I had previously ordered this CD, which is rather hard to find, from someone in Australia who said it took 2-3 weeks to ship. After a month, I gave up waiting and the seller was kind enough to refund everything. I re-ordered and received the CD in only a few weeks. The CD is as described, new, and is wonderful, and it came in a very timely fashion. The seller was great in getting it to me!
One of the Brightest Stars Feb 22, 2009 Blunt is a unique musician, and this follow-up to 'Back to Bedlam' reiterates that. He's a beutiful lyricist (he could have been a poet) and his songs are true, heartfelt. It doesn't matter whether they're about love or not, they're honest and full of human emotion.
He's got a very distinct voice, and when you listen to him, you know that's him. 'All the Lost Souls' excells and, at the same time it continues the tradition he's established with his debut album, it also takes his music into new grounds. There is definitely a new sound on the record, whether you listen to the modern 'I'll take everything' or the old-fashioned '1973'.
Some of my favorite songs of the album are 'Same Mistake', '1973' and 'I Really Want You'. I have actually used the lyrics to both 'Same Mistake' and 'I really want you' in class with my students - there's a lot to be reflected upon. Some of his lyrics are more straight-forward (like 1973) but others are, as they should be, more open to interpretation. It's interesting to compare what the students have thought to the artist's interpretation of the song, by showing the music video.
Finally, James performing live is excellent. He always gives 100%, we actually see him completely involved with the song. I've had the chance to watch one of his concerts live here in Rio and I absolutely loved it.
Highly recommended.

Hated and acclaimed... Severely criticized, but also admired... Jan 30, 2009 I find that James Blunt is a good singer/performer, FOR HIS FANS ONLY.
Simultaneously, he's also a complete musical disaster, as singer, performer and/or composer FOR HIS DETRACTORS.
By now, I find out that both groups are almost in a draw (I don't consider myself, to be among any of those groups).
His songs are either good and simple... Almost all of his songs are!
But he's certainly not a 'complete musical disaster'... If he was so, sir Elton John wouldn't have accepted him as support artist in his recent Latin American tour.
I LOVE James Blunt! Jan 08, 2009 I LOVE LOVE LOVE James Blunt...he could sing the phone book and I would love it..lol This is a great CD, but I dont think he can ever top the emotions and feelings he exhibited in "Back to Bedlam"!! I bought it because I want to collect all of his works.
